MONTGRAS Antu Grenache-Syrah-Carignan 2015

MONTGRAS Antu Grenache-Syrah-Carignan 2015

ANTU, means “Sun” in the Mapuche native language, and this is the new exploratory range of wines at MontGras, where the identity and characteristics of the terroir transfers to each bottle.

VINTAGE: 2015

VARIETALS: 50% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 25% Carignan

APPELLATION: Colchagua Valley

AGING: 100% of the wine was aged in French used barrels during 16 months.

ALCOHOL: 14.5%

TASTING NOTES:
Deep ruby red with purple notes; fruity aromas of blueberries, currants and plums combined with spices. A hint of ventilation due to the ageing in old barrels makes this wine charming, complex, and unique in the nose. Juicy and round, with ripe blackberry notes. This wine appears soft and velvety on the palate but an elegant acidity gives it structure, good texture, and a long, pleasant finish.

This wine pairs well with meats, pasta, and cheese.

PURE SUNSHINE

Brothers Hernán and Eduardo Gras, along with partner Christian Hartwig, set up the winery in 1993, combining state-of-the-art technology with the talent and passion of a very special group of people.

Hernán brought the substantial winemaking experience he had gained in Canada, while his brother, Eduardo and their friend Cristian Hartwig, contributed with their entrepreneurial vision and pragmatic business acumen. Their combination of skills and experience has enabled MontGras to become one of Chile’s foremost wine groups.

Today, we are one of the largest family-owned Chilean wineries, exporting to more than 30 countries worldwide.  With more than 25 years of existence in both the national and international markets, MontGras has been consistently ranked among the TOP 15 Wineries from Chile in the exports of bottled and packaged wine
