Lea Mormann Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014
Located in the well-respected Santa Rita Hills appellation, Mormann is one of the sandiest vineyards the Tensleys have ever worked with. While that may not sound ideal for growing, sandy soils are great for grape vines. The poor water retention and excellent drainage lead to smaller berries, fewer clusters and more intense grapes that produce more intense wine.
This vintage is bright, fresh and driven by mouth-watering notes of red plums, cherries, ripe raspberries, and pomegranate. The finish is long and silky with hints of spice and minerals.
